- Part of a film in which three bachelors, David, Dick and Jerry, decide to adopt a Belgian child orphaned by the war. David ends up the guardian of a girl called Renée. Examples of intertitles in this film are: "What the devel do three hard-shelled bachelors know about bringing up a girl?"; "A goat on the front lawn. People will think this [is] Harlem"; "Goat ees more of ze lady zan her";. "I knew America would agre with Mrs. Goat"; "Emmy, I was a fool to quarrel with you. We would have been so happy, but -- I threw away my chance!"; "This is Renée's last term at school. Have you any plans for her?"; "I just knew your socks would be in a dreadful condition, and I was coming to mend them when . . . "; and a letter "Dearest Emmeline, I know what your objection would be -- so I've sent for the justice of the peace to marry us." Emmeline, David's fiancée, breaks up with him to reunite with Jerry. Renée marries David.
