Description:
  • Jim Lewis (House Peters) always has been considered the best engineer on the D & O railroad, so when he is fired, the other workers are mystified. Jim's pink slip was signed simply "B", just as the company's firing notices were always signed, and the men assume that the letter stands for the company president, Theodore C. Baker. They convince Jim to go East and confront the much-hated president but when he arrives he finds Theodore to be a charming, sympathetic family man. He then learns that "B" stands for Brown (Bertram Marburgh), the general manager of the railroad who has been running the company behind Theodore's back and has run away with a fortune in railroad securities. Jim goes after Brown and brings him back to face the authorities, after which the recently fired engineer is rehired as Theodore's assistant and then marries Theodore's daughter Mildred (Zena Keefe).
