Description:
- CN Servocentres, some 100 across Canada, are part of a vital new system for the reporting and control of CN's 105,000 freight cars. The Servocentre acts as a link in a mammoth chain of information. It follows the progress of freight cars from points of origin to points of destination by means of an on-line, real time computer hook-up and can tell the customer or shipper where the car is and where it is going in a matter of seconds. The film follows the work of CN's Servocentres as they trace the movements of car 401002 with a degree of precision never before attained by the transportation industry. <14mn>
