- This newsreel begins with a promo for TOPICS OF THE DAY, shown in this theatre every week, distributed by Pathé. This is followed by the introduction: "L.E. Ouimet Presents BRITISH CANADIAN PATHÉ NEWS Issued Twice Weekly Released Through Specialty Film Import Ltd." The first story in the newsreel is as follows: London, England, Oxford Eight Practice For The Great Race. The "Dark Blues show promising form -- the Oxford eight please the critics on their first appearance at Putney for final practice of the great race. Shots of scullers and their cox carrying their boat to the water, then return for the oars and get in, as a large crowd watches. There is a long shot as the crew pulls away.
- Tilbury, England, To Help On The Land In New South Wales The First Batch of Discharged WAACs and Land Girls Leave For Their New Home. High angle shot of a large group of men and members of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps on the ship's deck. Two "Farmerettes", still in uniform. Women wave good-bye. They are travelling to New South Wales to help on the land.
- Montreal, The Synagogue Chevre Kadisha Burns Down. The synagogue falls prey to flames. Fire of unknown origin completly destroys the Jewish house of worship at an estimated loss of $250.000. There are three shots of the burning roof of the synagogue, the first two showing two firemen on ladders. There is a great deal of billowing smoke, flames and jets of water as the Montreal Fire Brigade fights the raging fire. The flames do not spare any part of the building. Several shots show firefighters working from the roof of a nearby building. Shot of firefighters with the Sacred Scrolls. The salvage department rescued the Sacred Scrolls and other precious books. At ground level, firefighters are shown carrying books and other objects. Bare walls are all that now remain of the Synagogue. There are shots of the front of the gutted synagogue as firefighters gather their equipment.
- Sacramento, California, Airplane Braves The Rockies. Accompanied by a Pathé cameraman, an aviator makes a hazardous low-level flight over the Yosemite Valley. The flight departs from Mather Flying Field. Footage shows: aerial views of Sacramento, the State Capitol Building, the 12-mile Yosemite gorge and a waterfall (the gorge and waterfall are shown through the rigging of the plane) and two more shots of the Yosemite valley.
- Baltimore, Maryland, Turf Season Opens in East. Passage of favourable racing laws is celebrated as horse races are held on Bowie Track. Footage shows: horses and jockeys trotting alongside the rail; the start of the race, shown at track level, and final shots of the race in progress. <3mn 44s>
