  • Prince of Wales Welcomed at Eton. The Prince of Wales is cordially welcomed by silk-hatted Eton College boys and receives the freedom of the Royal borough. There is a long shot of the Prince, surrounded by dignitaries in academic robes. Shot from behind the crowd, of the Prince speaking. Dozens of top hats are raised in salute. Shot of a procession. Shot of the Prince reviewing troops. Shot of him standing with dignitaries. Shot of him getting into a car. The car drives through the crowd.
  • Asquith is Re-Elected. Henry Herbert Asquith, England's Liberal leader, is re-relected to Parliament and receives a tremendous ovation in Paisley, Scotland, where he opened his campaign He is shown coming out of a building, standing in a crowd, preparing to get into a car and sitting in the open back of the car. Defeated Labour candidate, Biggar, who was defeated by Asquith, speaks to a packed crowd of men at a lunch hour meeting near a factory. There is a medium shot of Biggar standing beside a worker. There is a long shot of Biggar speaking to a large group of workmen. There is a medium shot of him speaking. A long shot shows many men raising their arms, as if in response to a question. A close-up shows Biggar staring into the camera.
  • Ship Runs Aground on the "Blind Sisters" Ledges. The S.S. Bohemian runs aground on the "Blind Sisters" ledges off Halifax, Nova Scotia. Another gallant rescue upholds the noble traditions of seafaring men. The ship's 4½ ton anchor is run to the stern, in an attempt to release the bow by the action of the tide. There are several close shots of the anchor. A fierce Atlantic storm broke the liner in two, and the passengers were rescued by life lines and small boats. There are two long shots of the liner and small boats taking passengers and crew off. There is a close-shot of the space between the ship and a smaller vessel. Life lines are hanging. There is a long shot of the liner, or what is left of it, is shown just before disappearing under the waves. There are various shots of rescued passengers waving at the camera, in a snow storm in Halifax, and climbing into cars. Also shown is the crew, the last people to leave the ship. They are shown standing on the deck of a small rescue boat and walking to the dock. Men stand around outside as crew and survivors are allocated to hotels after their arrival in Halifax.
  • Chinese Experts Visit U.S. Aircraft Plant. Various views of Chinese men working on aircraft mockups, including varnishing wings and working on the frame and motor, in an aircraft plant in Chicago, Illinois. Chinese representatives are in Chicago to study the construction of airplanes so as to develop an aircraft industry in China.
  • City Island, New York: Fire Destroys Yachts in Shipyard. Rival Cup yachts Shamrock IV and Vanittie are menaced as fire destroys five nearby yachts in the shipyard. There is a panning shot of destroyed yachts. Firemen are still hosing them down. There is a closer shot of a burned out hull. The Vanitie, America's Cup defender, is shown in the background, with another yacht.
  • Paris, France. Athletes Prepare for Coming Olympics. 1600 athletes negotiate all kinds of obstacles as they race through woods, water, etc., in a cross-country race on the outskirts of Paris, France. In 1920, the Olympics were held in Atwerp, Belgium. Two shots of men running through a forest. An intertitle reads "Wet or dry -- it makes no difference". There is a shot of the men running through large puddles of water, in the rain. Men are shown hurdlling fences. A young boy, in something resembling a Boy Scout uniform, flags them in.
  • Army Surplus Sale in New York City.The army makes a final drive to dispose of a large excess of supplies. Twenty-five stores are opened to sell the goods at cost. A large crowd is shown waiting in front of a store for the doors to open. They flock into a store identified by a sign which reads "United States Army/Quartermaster/Retail Store No. 1". There is a closer shot of men entering the store. An intertitle reads "A good soldier can always take orders -- even over a counter". Two shots of soldiers serving customers. Customers look over and buy various supplies. An intertitle reads "With these sales the government also hopes to reduce prices and fight the profiteers." A poster reads: "Defeat the Profiteers/Buy from Uncle Sam/United States Army Surplus Supplies of Blankets, Shoes, Candy, Tobacco, Groceries, Underwear. For Sale At Quartermaster Retail Store No. 1, 435 Lafayette St., near 8th st., N.Y.C., Captain Jaffray Peterson in Charge". Shown are stacks of canned tomatoes with a sign which reads "U.S. Army Price -- Tomatoes 9 cents a can. There is a final shot of the store exterior.
  • Giessen, Germany: German Prisoners of War Return Home. This is about the arrival in Germany of the first lot of war captives released by the Allies in accordance with the peace treaty. Many of them were prisoners for 3 or 4 years. Footage shows men marching down a street into Giessen as a large crowd watches. There are freeze-frames of men at the railway station. They are sent to a German military camp to be demobilized. Freeze-frames show the front gate of a demobilization camp. <8mn 30s>
