Description:
- A will stipulates that Jerry Braden and Norma Noggs (Marguerite Courtot) must marry each other in order to inherit a lucrative candy factory, and that if either marries somebody else, the unwed beneficiary will inherit everything. Jerry curses himself for having gotten married long before he knew anything about the will and then makes plans to find a husband for Norma to keep her from getting the factory all to herself. His work is done for him, however, when an imposter, knowing about the will, pretends to be Jerry and then marries Norma, who has never seen the man whom the will has chosen to be her husband and business partner. With the rules of the inheritance thereby broken by both beneficiaries, the will is reinterpreted and reworked so that Jerry and the man who impersonated him, and thereby saved Jerry's fortune, become partners in the factory.
