- 1. Material was received from Dawson City in 2 shipments - 506 reels in 1978 and 26 reels in 1980. Of these 389 reels, primarily of American fiction, were transferred to Library of Congress for conversion. Reference copies of some of these reels were returned to NFTSA.

Description:
- Part of second half of a fiction film. Ethel received a letter calling her back East to try for a part in a show. Her fiancé refuses to let her go. They both emote. The man hurries out into the forest, accidentally finds gold nuggets in a carrek and rushes home to tel of his find. Meanwhile, Ethel pawns her engagement ring for a railway ticket to the big town. The fiancé finds her note and reacts. Ethel arrives at the theatre an dis welcomed back by friends. She is a success, but she misses the man back home. She returns home for a visit. By this time, the fiancé, distraught and woebegone, takes his pistol out of the trunk and goes into the forest, wandering around casting gold nuggets to the four winds. Ethel arrives at the cabin and finds him gone. He stands by a stream where he discovered the gold, takes out Ethel's photo and kisses it fondly. <4mn 35s>
