  • Sheepshead Bay, New York: 100 Miles in 54 Minutes, 10 Seconds. Louis Chevrolet wins $10,000 Harkness Gold Trophy and Makes New Record. Footage shows: cars on the track, passing the stands; series of high-angle and track level shots showing the race, Louis Chevrolet receiving the trophy from Mr. Harkness and sitting on the hood of his car, a Frontenac. The next story on the reel is "It Was Dare Devil's Day" -- "In the Air, DeLloyd Thompson, Showed the Birds How to Fly!". Very long shot of small airplane doing various spins and loops in the air, before landing. Medium shot of Thompson, standing beside his plane.
  • Norfolk, Virginia: A Regular Daddy Fixes the Kids Up In Great Style. Builds world's largest "teeter board" for his own and neighbour's kiddies. Shot of children climbing eagerly onto the board, which is 80 feet long and 26 feet high. Long shot of the huge board in action, while other children watch.   • Barcelona, Spain: Spanish Revolutionists Yield to Machine Gun Argument. Catalonians, threatening great seaport, are overawed by government. From Garciavilla, the men start to attend revolt meeting. A group of men are shown walking along a rural road, waving their caps to the camera. Sympathizers give them food. Shot of a man handing out food. They await their train. Shot of the men dancing and of crowds seeing them off at the train. An interititle reads "In Barcelona, Machine Guns Changed Their Minds". Footage of soldiers mounting a cannono and panning shot showing soldiers and heavy artillery.
  • Washington, D.C.: Colonel Harts, President's Aide, Granted Fighting Leave. Asks permission to go "over there" and fight, so Mr. Wilson assigns him to service which takes him to France. Close and medium shots of Colonel Harts, in uniform, posing for the camera.
  • Camp Warden McLean, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia: French Veteran Instructors With Our Student Officers in the South. Tricks that will make the enemy realize that we mean business, being mastered in America. Shot of an American officer and two French officers walking through a trench. Captain Pierre Lorios (with beard), Lieutenant G. Delaroche-Vernet and Major T.M. Andreson, Senior Instructor, visit student-made trenches. Medium shot of the three men talking. Captain E.A.   • Governors Island, New York: Here Are More of 'Em! Selected men, now Uncle Sam's pet nephews, are busy getting ready for "the day". Interititle reads "Passed by Bureau of Public Information". Shot of a line of men having cards stamped at a table manned by officers. Medium shjot of a man having his teeth examined. Shot of the men, still in civiilian clothes, marching in drill formation and practicing with dummy rifles.
  • Quebec, Canada: Quebec Bridge Completed After Much Trouble. 14 years building followed by disaster last year, huge structure is a success. Panning shot showing the two sections of the bridge attached to shore, the gap still in the middle. Long shot showing the centre span near water level. Panning show down one of the huge hydraulic pumps used to place the span. Three shots of the 640-foot span, weighing 7,000 tons, being hoisted 160 feet, at 6 feet per hour, above the St. Lawrence River, There are shots of workers leaving the bridge.
  • Camp Mills, Mineola, Long Island: 27,000 "Rainbows" From Every State in Our Union Ready For The Word "Go". Secretary Baker, Major General Tasker H. Bliss and many thousands of others review one of the wedges that will pry autocracy loose from democracy's throat. Shot of a train pullinlg into station. Medium shot of Baker and Blisson the platform. Shot of them in the back of an open car. Shots of troops marching. Intertitle reads: "Our Secretary of War Doffs His Derby in Salute". Continuation of previous shot. Baker is barely visible at left, with hat.
  • Food Controller, Ottawa, Canada. This intertitle includes a crest. Shot of the Food Controller for Canada sitting at his desk, answering the phone, writing letters, opening mail, etc. He opens a telegram. There is a close-up of the telegram which reads: "The Following Cablegram received via commerical cables/The MacKay Companies System: working in direct connection with the Canadian Pacific Railway Co's Telegraph -- 295 RA D 35 Cable; London; July 25 -17: "W.J. Hanna, Food Controller, Ottawa: We look to the resources of Canada and to the indomitable energy of Canadians for an answer that will shatter Germany's threat of starvation; Lord Rhondda"; British Food Controller. Mr. Hanna begins to write at his desk. There is a shot of the letter he is writing: "Office of the Food Controller, Ottawa; To the people of Canada, The Men in the trenches are dependent upon you for food. Eat fish and perishable products. Save beef, bacon and white bread. Our soldiers and allies must not go hungry." Another shot of Hanna.
