- A lesson in living history, that's what hundreds of boys and girls experienced at Upper Canada Village. The village is near Morrisburg, Ontario, on the site of the Battlefield of Chrysler's Farm in 1813, when Canadian settlers prevented invading Americans from reaching Montreal. The students catch a glimps of how United Empire Loyalists really lived over 100 years ago. The children visit reconstructed pioneer buildings - a general store, Cook's Tavern, the cabinetmaker's shop, Willard's Hotel, a saw-mill, even a woolen mill where blankets are still made as they were in 19th century Canada. <13mn>
