Description:
- The US commander at Panama receives a coded note indicating that a secret message will soon arrive by courier regarding the canal defences. In Washington, the General Staff meets and gives the message to Captain Ralph Paine to deliver. Pearl Dare, the daughter of Colonel Dare of the General Staff, meets Paine as he leaves and invites him to dine with her. Later, Paine, through a note he finds written in what seems to be his handwriting, but which he did not write, discovers that there has been a leak of information about the message. <9mn>

- 2. At the head of the film there is an additional message. In an introduction, the distributors warn Canadians to beware. "Once the foe invades America, they will not stop there. Canada itself will be in danger of immediate invasion".
- 3. There follows the statement that out of 500000 men promised, only 375000 have enlisted. "If we want the allies to conquer, we must furnish the men we promised - and at once". The speaker is tentatively identified as Prime Minister Robert Borden.
- 4. Lord Kitchener with another officer says "It will take two years to raise an adequate army. England will be ready to launch it full force within that time". Seen are marching Australian soldiers and Canadian troops.
- 5. Edward Jose, the creator of this film, died in 1930 - copyright expired.
