Description:
- This film examines how the CN remains socially adaptable and conscious. A lengthy segment shows how the railway hires women and continues to push for employment equity. The Liberal Party chartered a nine car, whistle stop train for a Prime Minister Trudeau's political campaign, that travelled through 27 communities between Sydney, Nova Scotia and Montreal, Quebec. Other sequences show the celebration sponsored by the United Way and CN to raise money for various liberal causes. A beautiful Miss CN is the highlight of these activities.
Notes:
- 1. Ship names of note are "Marine Nautica" and "Marine Sprinter".
- 2. Important footage of Pierre Trudeau and Chretien on board the "Trudeau Express" as it rolls through a small town. Quote of note is Trudeau's comment on Canadian National Railways, "The C.N. is a darn good way to travel, and I recommend it".
