-- Mr. Cucumber, as a pleasant diversion from ennui, takes a nap. -- Surprised by a noise in the street he puts his head out at the grated window to see what is the matter. -- He is still more surprised when he finds that his head is caught between the bars. -- Mr. Cucumber receives a visitor who is exceedingly surprised at the attitude of his host. -- The visitor at length comprehends, and begins to "improve the occasion".
