Sir John told Mr. De Cosmos that the first item of news which he read in "The Montreal Herald" after his arrival at Rimouski, was that British Columbia had obtained another representative in to addition to Bunster, De Cosmos, and himself, and that one was the great sea-serpent. He thought it would now be hard to match the Pacific province.
